Summer Piping Course 2017

Dates: Running weekly from Monday 3rd July till Friday 18th August 2017


Registration for all classes is from 9.30 Monday morning. Classes 9.45am until 12.30 pm Monday till Friday. The afternoons (2pm-4pm) for the students are set aside for their practice and for the following activities:


• Musical Theory
• Piping History
• Bagpipe maintenance
• Reed selection and manipulation
• Certificate awards


Students should bring pipes, practice chanter, music books, manuscript paper, pencils and, if desired, a small tape recorder.
SQA/PDQB Exams will be available during all Seasonal Schools. For more information on exams please go to our Examinations page.Specialist courses are conducted by an expert in the field and are tailored to meet the needs of all levels of abilty. Class times are as per the seasonal courses and students should bring additional instruments, books or equipment as is relevant.


Would all students please note that the College of Piping adheres strictly to the UK's copyright laws. Photocopying of music is therefore discouraged but a full range of books and manuscript paper is available from the College Shop though some music may be supplied as is required. All levels and age groups are catered for. Children are welcome and will be supervised throughout the day. They should bring a packed lunch and be dropped off at The College of Piping for 9.30am and collected at 4pm each day.


Please note that all College lessons are subsidised by earnings from the College Shop. Cancellations received less than 14 days from the start date of any lesson or course of lessons are subject to a 10% cancellation fee.
